Migration Period in Total War: Attila
It is becoming increasingly difficult for Creative Assembly to surprise fans of Total War. After making a giant leap in Empire: Total War, when the series got first muskets and multi-barreled guns, the authors stagnated. They added great naval battles in Empire - and broke AI. Improved graphics and staged a bloodshed in the Shogun 2 - and then "forgot" about the ships. And Total War: Rome 2 became a disappointment. However with time Creative Assembly could revive Rome 2 with patches, but it took too much time.
In parallel, the studio worked on an offshoot of Total War: Attila, dedicated to later events in world history: the invasion of the Huns had already given impetus to the mass resettlement of the Germanic people, and the Western Roman Empire will only exist for a few decades.
The nomads are the main threat in Attila. Militant Asians use scorched earth tactics and massacre everyone in their path. They have no cities, and mode of behavior is unsophisticated: they attack the enemy, getting distracted only on the robbery of caravans or temporary encamp to lick their wounds and reconstitute numerical strength.
In the virtual battles Attila's soldiers are also markedly different from other factions. Like the Mongols, they love horses and are fluent in archery at full tilt, so the maneuver "Hit and run" - the most effective for those who want to fight the boredom of protracted battles.
